Connecting to MySQL via MySQL Shell or SSL Shell

Have you ever been fed up with the complicated procedures connecting to MySQL? In MySQL Clusters, everything is simple and smooth. The following article will help you obtain the connection method easily.

1. Locate the target MySQL deployment

Please log in to the Control Panel https://clients.cloudclusters.io/ with your credentials. Enter the "My Applications" page and locate your target deployment from all deployments listed.

2. Create the database and user

If there is not any database or user, create the database and user first. Just a friendly reminder, please associate one user at least with the database before the connection.

3. Find MySQL Shell/ SSL Shell connection string

Go to the "Overview" page to get MySQL shell connection string.

4. Connect to the MySQL server

Download and install the MySQL community client program.

For MySQL client 5.7:

Please copy the Shell or SSL Shell connection string to the command window. Replace the<UserName>and<Password> with your own database user and password in order to connect to the MySQL server.

For MySQL client blew 5.7:

Please copy the Shell or SSL Shell connection string to the command window.

For Shell: Replace the <UserName> and <Password> with your own database user and password.

For SSL Shell: Replace the <UserName>,<Password> and <ca-path> with your own database user, password and the path to the ca.crt file. You are able to make the connection successfully then.
